The source language is detected for each response, even in mixed datasets. A glossary in the study context helps translate technical terms consistently. Machine translation is not error-free – check important statements against the original.

You can analyze responses in other languages too. The source language is detected for each response; as the target language you choose German or English, for example. The deepsight cloud interface is currently in German.
No. If translation is switched on, texts are translated first and masked afterwards, because the anonymization supports fewer languages. Texts therefore reach the selected translation service unmasked. If anonymization is switched on, the analyses then run on the masked text.
By default, an AI translates via Azure OpenAI, processed in the EU; Microsoft does not use your data to train AI models. If you choose DeepL or Google, texts are sent to that provider for translation. An overview of the service providers we use is available on request.
Whether you analyze in the original language or translate first is a methodological decision in social research, for example.
